Ontario Hoarding Cleanup Directory tracks 131 hoarding cleanup businesses across Ontario, built for families and caregivers who need to find a competent local provider without spending days guessing at quality or price. Hoarding disorder touches an estimated 2.5% of adults, which works out to roughly 380,000 people across the province. Most of those families come to this search cold: they don’t know what fair pricing in CAD looks like, they can’t tell a careful crew from a truck-and-a-dumpster outfit, and there hasn’t been a straightforward way to line up local options side by side. That’s the gap this directory was built to close.

To be plain about how we operate: this is an independent directory and comparison resource, and we also generate enquiries for local providers. When you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for that introduction. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. That separation is a hard rule, not a promise we make once and quietly ignore.

Where the listing data comes from

Each listing is built from public business information (things like service area, hours, and business registration details) combined with a synthesis of recent Google reviews. We don’t republish review text; instead we summarize sentiment and link out to the source on Google so you can read the original reviews yourself. A business owner can flag and correct factual details on their own listing (address, phone number, services offered, and similar) but cannot edit their own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. That distinction matters: facts are correctable, earned standing is not.

How rankings and sponsorship work

Rankings come from a published rubric applied consistently to the data we collect. There’s no manual thumb on the scale for a business we like better, and no ranking boost for sale. Full detail on how scoring works lives on the methodology page, and it’s worth reading if you want to know exactly what’s being measured. Where sponsorship appears on the site, it’s labelled “Sponsored,” displayed in a clearly separate section from the earned rankings, and it never changes where a business lands in the actual ranked list.

Who maintains this

Editorial oversight sits with Amara Whitfield, Editorial Lead, who is responsible for how the rubric gets applied and how listings are kept current. Data is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see when it was last checked rather than taking freshness on faith.
